- Depression and anxiety can affect people's thoughts, mood, behaviour and physical health.
- They are common illnesses - around one million Australian adults have depression and two million have an anxiety disorder.
- Around 160,00 young people (aged 16 -24 years) have depression and anxiety is even more common.
- If it's not you, it could be someone you know.
- With the right treatment, most people recover - talking to a doctor or other health professional can help.
