Helping separated families negotiate medical decisions

When a child requires an extended hospital stay their parents are often faced with a stressful and trying experience as they make decisions regarding their child’s care.

This time can prove especially difficult for parents who have separated with decision making regarding their child’s care requiring input from both parents.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is partnering with the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne to provide free mediation services with a qualified RAV counsellor to assist parents during this difficult time.

Mediation services may include assistance in establishing visiting schedules, care and treatment decisions and parental roles and communication.
