Disability Royal Commission Counselling Services

Relationships Australia provides a free, independent counselling service, funded by the Australian Government, for anyone affected by the Disability Royal Commission

The Australian Government has provided funding to provide free, independent counselling service for anyone affected by the Disability Royal Commission (DRC).

Who the service is for:

  • people with disability who have suffered violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation
  • parents, guardians, other family members of a person with disability
  • carers of a person with a disability
  • others affected by the DRC requiring counselling support

What the service provides:

  • professional trauma-informed counselling
  • warm transfers to other support services if required
  • information and referrals about other useful services

What you can expect:

  • Relationships Australia counsellors are here to listen and support you
  • everyone’s experience of trauma is different, and everyone has different needs
  • our counsellors focus on your needs

The Disability Royal Commission

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of people with disability (DRC) was established on 4 April 2019 and will run for three years.
